HDR appear to have less of an issue, but have the higher price tag. Unfortunately the max luminosity isn't usually reported so I've found it best to go in store and hope they're near each other. But while doing a simple screen by screen comparison it seems to me that UHD TVs do in general seem to lack a bit of brightness. I guess that with it being designed for 3D glasses it needs a better max brightness. However, I had a good look at similarly priced TVs and thought the ultra HDs looked a bit washed out by comparison, increased detail yes, but max luminosity lacking by comparison (I asked store staff to put them to max and watched the guy do it). Thanks for reply Quinnicus, nice to get a proper response while the Sony staff look the other way,Īppreciate 3D tv is going downhill, which was why I was wondering about the conversion, as most 3D stations / programs have been shut down.
